September 1, 2007- Engine 501 and QRV 509 responded to a head on
collision on Union New Hope Rd. Both drivers where transported to
Gaston Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Union Road Volunteer Fire
Department, Gaston Emergency Medical
Services (GEMS), Gaston Lifesaving Crew, South Point Life Saving Crew, and the North Carolina Highway
Patrol also responded.
